Initiated 2016, ongoing. 12 Bridges is a self-initiated, nonprofit art association founded in Stockholm in 2016. The project began as a local initiative to create a shared platform for artistic exchange outside traditional exhibition spaces.
The initiative takes the form of an annual art walk, bringing together primarily professional visual artists and artisans working in the surrounding area. Participation is based on an open application process, and the project is sustained through collective responsibility, where all members contribute to its continuity year after year. While I was the initiator of 12 Bridges, its long-term viability depends on shared involvement and collaboration.
For my own practice, 12 Bridges expands the understanding of artistic work to include building sustainable, locally embedded structures for artistic visibility and exchange alongside my studio practice.
